Group Pot is a shared expense ledger that lives outside the chat, so the whole group can use it for as long as the trip, the lease or the relationship lasts.

Start a pot in ChatGPT ("start a pot for our Lisbon trip with Sam, Priya and Jordan") and you get a short code and a link. Send the link to the group chat. Friends open it in any browser, no ChatGPT or sign-up needed, pick their name once, and add what they paid in seconds. Anyone with ChatGPT can also say "add 45 for gas to pot K7QM2XH" from their own chat. Everyone sees the same live balances.

Split an expense equally, among just some people, by weights (two nights versus three), by percentages or by exact amounts. Paste or photograph a receipt and say who had what: shared plates are split only among the people who shared them, and tax and tip follow in proportion. Log costs in another currency with your own exchange rate.

Settle up with the fewest possible transfers, and tap Mark paid when someone pays back. Every expense shows who added it, and a short activity log shows every change, so nothing moves without the group seeing it. Come back from any new chat and ask "what do I owe across my pots?".

What is stored: the pot name, the display names of its members, the expenses and repayments you enter, and who added each one. Pots are deleted 180 days after their last activity. Anyone with the code or link can view and edit the pot, so share it only with the group.
